OCI, a Dutch-based firm with Egyptian roots, is to combine its Mena fertilizers business with Abu Dhabi state firm Adnoc’s fertilizers subsidiary. The 17 June deal creates the Mena region’s largest fertilizer producer.
OCI (formerly Orascom Construction Industries) is part of a conglomerate majority owned by Egyptian tycoon Nassef Sawiris which moved its primary listing from Cairo to Amsterdam in January 2013 in the wake of Arab Spring instability. (CONTINUED - 1008 WORDS)
