Oman’s Duqm Refinery & Petrochemical Industries Company (DRPIC), a JV of Oman state upstream firm OOC and Kuwait state firm KPI, this week awarded front end engineering design (Feed) work to UK’s Wood Group for a petchems complex to be integrated with the under-construction 230,000 b/d Duqm refinery.
Besides a 1.6mn t/y mixed-feed cracker and chemicals units including polyethylene and polypropylene, Feed scope includes an NGL extraction plant in central Oman and a 230km pipeline to carry NGLs to the Duqm complex.
