After restarting El Sharara output on 21 July following the forced closure of a valve by an “unidentified group” two days earlier, Libya’s NOC was once again forced to shut-down output at its largest field on 30 July and declare force majeure on loadings from Zawiya port.
“Unidentified perpetrators” closed a valve along the Sharara-Zawiya route and attempts to “reopen the valve … were prevented from doing so by a local armed group,” according to a statement released by the National Oil Corporation (NOC).
