Italian firm Eni announced on 31 July it had started up a gas compression project at its Wafa field in Libya, as part of a plan to maintain plateau production. The second part of the plan, which includes the drilling of three infill wells, is ongoing (MEES, 5 July).
Eni also says it is supporting Libya in its aim of introducing renewable energy to the country to help reduce Libya’s dependence on oil and gas to fuel its power plants, which are struggling to meet demand (MEES, 5 July). (CONTINUED - 133 WORDS)
