Iran is prioritizing development of its own Hormuz-bypass pipeline amid rising regional tensions in a move that would give its periodic threats to close the Strait of Hormuz slightly more weight. The Goureh-Jask pipeline is planned to have capacity to transport up to 1mn b/d of crude to the planned Jask oil export terminal.
