Algeria’s 450mn cfd (4.5 bcm/y) Touat project hit plateau in April and its operational handover was finally completed in June (MEES, 3 April). But things have gone downhill from there. Leading partner Neptune Energy says technical problems at the plant are causing significant falls in output (see map MEES, 20 November).
“The performance of the Touat gas processing facility remains variable and shutdowns in August and September were required to unplug the gas heat exchanger to remove material released from the H2S scavenger unit and clean process pipelines,” Neptune said in its Q3 results on 18 November.
