Saudi firm Al-Hejailan and US petchems giant Dow have announced a joint venture to build a 40,000 t/y polyacrylic acid (PAA) plant in the Plaschem Park planned alongside the Aramco/Dow 65:35 JV Sadara petrochemicals complex at Jubail. This takes total Plaschem projects to nine, although most are yet to break ground.
The PPA plant will “meet growing customer demand for coatings and water treatment applications” in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. It will incorporate Dow process technology and be operated by Al-Hejailan (75%), with Dow (25%) marketing the products. (CONTINUED - 873 WORDS)
