Chevron’s 2019 operations report says that first output from the KRG’s Sarta field is “expected in second-half 2020.” This implies a modest delay from the timeline given by partner Genel Energy in January that it “expects production to start in the summer.” Sarta is slated to produce an initial 15,000 b/d from two wells, one of the KRG’s key planned 2020 output increments (MEES, 17 January). Chevron operates Sarta with 50%, Genel has 30% and the KRG 20%.
