Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) says it has received a world record low tariff bid of $0.306/m3 for water from a reverse osmosis (RO) desalination plant, a 546,000 m3/d (120mn gal/day) plant to be built at Hassyan, 60km south of Dubai city for August 2023 start-up.
Hassyan is the first RO plant Dewa is developing under independent water producer (IWP) terms. Dewa says it will select a preferred bidder in Q2 having invited bids last October (MEES, 8 November 2019). (CONTINUED - 582 WORDS)
