Japan’s imports of crude oil and condensate fell to just 2.282mn b/d for May, the lowest figure in more than 50 years.
Saudi Arabia retained the number one supplier spot for the second straight month, but volumes of 932,000 b/d were the lowest since last October. This despite the kingdom exporting a record 10.24mn b/d of crude in April, a flood of volumes that resulted in import records from Italy (MEES, 3 July), Germany (see below), Spain (MEES, 12 June) and China (MEES, 26 June).
