Egypt-focused independent Apex International this week announced that the second well of a three-well campaign on its Southeast Meleiha block in Egypt’s Western Desert tested at 2,100 b/d. The SEMZ-11X well was drilled to a total depth of 1,737 meters encountering 20 meters of oil pay in the Cretaceous sandstones of the Bahariya and Abu Roash G formations.
The first well, December’s SEMZ-1X, tested at just 100 b/d, though Apex says it “plans to fracture stimulate the 1X in the future to increase the producing rate.” (CONTINUED - 204 WORDS)
