Morocco is not alone in the Mena region in benefiting from high levels of solar irradiation. But in terms of plans to produce ‘green hydrogen’ from electrolysis of water using renewable energy it has a key advantage. A direct pipeline link to Spain potentially makes for much more efficient distribution of hydrogen than rival Gulf-based projects.
