Algerian state oil giant Sonatrach on 9 October broke ground on a planned 450,000 t/y polypropylene plant at the Turkish Mediterranean port of Ceyhan in a move that marks an important step in Sonatrach’s strategy of “international redeployment.”
“This represents the largest polypropylene and propane plant in the region which allows us to seize the opportunity to expand our business into an important market of 2mn tons of polypropylene,” said Sonatrach CEO Toufik Hakkar at the ceremony on 9 October. (CONTINUED - 534 WORDS)
