Citic Construction, a subsidiary of Chinese state-run conglomerate Citic, has won a bid for the two-phase construction of the Khayrat steam turbine power plant awarded to British-incorporated and Baghdad-based Harlow International.
According to Citic Construction’s statement on 11 October, the plant, located in Karbala province, will have a capacity of 3.2GW, from eight 400MW generation units. Each phase will consist of four units. The Chinese firm puts the contract value of each phase at $2.85bn, for a total of $5.7bn. (CONTINUED - 914 WORDS)
