Abu Dhabi state-led utility firm Taqa has announced its first full year results since its merger with state electricity and water firm Adpower in July 2020 (MEES, 3 July 2020). CEO Jasim Husain Thabet says “Taqa has carved out a new place in the market during an extraordinarily tough year” and is now looking to grow its footprint.
As a result of the transaction, Taqa now has stakes in UAE power plants with total capacity of 18.04GW (global capacity is 23GW). This includes stakes in all of Abu Dhabi’s major power plants, with the exception of the under-development 5.6GW Barakah nuclear plant, as well as facilities in Fujairah. (CONTINUED - 862 WORDS)
