Italy’s Saipem has been awarded a $1.7bn Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) contract by Qatargas. The award is for development of the North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Project, and is part of Qatar’s $29bn North Field East (NFE) contract to boost liquefaction capacity from 77mn t/y to 110mn t/y by early 2027 (MEES, 12 February).
The scope of work covers “various offshore facilities for the extraction and transportation of natural gas, including platforms, supporting and connecting structures, subsea cables and anticorrosion internally cladded pipelines. Furthermore, the project encompasses the decommissioning of a pipeline and other significant modifications to existing offshore facilities.” (CONTINUED - 163 WORDS)
