The intensification of attacks on Saudi Aramco’s assets continues, with Yemen’s Houthi group claiming yet another attack on 19 March. The group says that it launched an attack on Aramco facilities in the capital Riyadh with six drones. Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy confirmed the attack, adding that it was on the ageing 126,000 b/d Riyadh refinery. It added that the attack sparked a fire which was subsequently brought under control, but that there were no injuries or fatalities. There was also no impact on the refinery’s operations.
This latest attack followed similar assaults by drones and missiles earlier this month on Aramco facilities in the eastern sites of Dhahran and Ras Tanura (MEES, 12 March). (CONTINUED - 118 WORDS)
