The embattled British services firm Petrofac suffered a major blow this week when it was notified by Abu Dhabi state energy firm Adnoc that it “has been suspended from competing for new awards until further notice” due to an ongoing investigation by the UK’s Serious Fraud Office (SFO).
In a 15 March announcement, Petrofac says the suspension “follows the SFO’s announcement of additional pleas in January by a former Petrofac employee [former sales chief David Lufkin] under the Bribery Act 2010 in relation to historic contract awards in the UAE in 2013 and 2014.” (CONTINUED - 1018 WORDS)
