*The four key East Asian LNG importers of Japan, China, South Korea and Taiwan collectively took a record 81.77mn tons of the supercooled fuel over the peak November-February buying season. This represents a 9.3% increase on the previous record 74.82mn tons set the previous winter, according to latest import statistics and figures from data intelligence firm Kpler (see chart 1).
