The intriguing ‘Thameen-1’ well on Swedish firm Tethys Oil’s Block 49 in Oman has underwhelmed. In a 23 March release, Tethys states that after well testing “No flows were recorded at surface, but down hole fluid samples were collected. The well will be suspended to allow re-entry at a later date after further evaluation has been carried out.”
Tethys operates Block 49 with a 50% stake after the government this month approved its sale of 50% to US shale specialists EOG Resources (MEES, 13 November 2020). (CONTINUED - 210 WORDS)
