*Freshly released official China LNG data show that the country imported a record 8.49mn b/d in January, whilst the January-February figure of 14.04mn tons was up 27% year-on year. These figures are closely aligned with those from data intelligence firm Kpler and confirm that the 2020-21 winter saw the highest ever LNG imports by both China and East Asia as a whole (MEES, 19 March).
