Qatar Petroleum (QP) on 1 March awarded a second EPC contract for its giant $28.75bn North Field Expansion (NFE) project. This comes on the back of last month’s main $13bn contract award for the construction of four 8mn t/y LNG mega-trains to a JV of Japan’s Chiyoda and Paris-based Technip Energies (MEES, 12 February).
The “North Field East EPC-2” award worth “more than $2bn (including options)” went to Samsung C&T, the construction and trading arm of the giant South Korean conglomerate, “for the expansion of the LNG storage and loading facilities located within Ras Laffan Industrial City.” (CONTINUED - 384 WORDS)
