Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul-listed Advanced Petrochemical Co. is a mid-sized player in the kingdom’s substantial petrochemicals sector. But in recent weeks the firm has pushed forward ambitious expansion plans which could help boost Riyadh’s ambitions to enhance both the country’s downstream industries and expand the private sector.
Advanced’s assets currently consist of a 455,000 t/y propylene plant at Jubail on the Saudi Gulf coast which is supplied with 23,000 b/d propane feedstock by Saudi Aramco. This in turn provides feedstock to a 450,000 t/y polypropylene (PP) plant.
