Saudi firm Acwa Power says it has “finalized the project agreements” for its $155.4mn, 200MW solar PV project at Kom Ombo in southern Egypt. It now says it expects financial close to be reached in Q3 this year with construction to begin during the same period.
On 7 April Acwa announced the signing of a “25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Network Connection Contract and Usufruct Agreement” with senior Egyptian government officials and representatives from state run firm Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) and the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA).
