Key Algeria gas projects led by BP and Equinor saw combined output hit a two-year high 1.309bn cfd for Q1 (see chart). In Salah, which in 2020 saw volumes fall to their lowest level since start-up (MEES, 12 February), continued its late-2020 rebound to hit 729mn cfd in Q1, according to MEES calculations. That’s more than triple 2Q20’s 200mn cfd when output was thought to have been crippled by upstream issues.
In Amenas output rose 17% on the quarter to hit 580mn cfd. The surge from the two projects comes as Algeria’s gas exports have rebounded sharply in early 2021 (MEES, 14 May and MEES, 9 April). (CONTINUED - 132 WORDS)
