Omani state energy firm OQ has a wide-ranging portfolio in the sultanate’s upstream, participating in four producing blocks and a host of exploration assets, as well as holding a stake in the Dunga field in Kazakhstan. Gross output from its portfolio dropped in 2020 thanks to Oman’s participation in the Opec+ production cuts.
Overall, gross output from OQ’s Oman portfolio generated 223,000 b/d in 2020, equivalent to 25% of the sultanate’s 950,000 b/d average output. As for gas, the 995mn cfd gross output from its assets equated to a slightly more modest 23% of Oman’s total. Essentially, OQ is present at Oman’s key fields outside of Shell-led part-state PDO’s giant Block 6 which produces nearly 700,000 b/d and 3.5bn cfd. (CONTINUED - 1178 WORDS)
