Italian firm Eni’s flagship 21.5tcf Zohr gas field in Egypt’s deep offshore has been hit by numerous outages since late March. The first outage was sudden and lasted for 20 hours, leaving state gas firm Egas scrambling to fill a 40% slump in the country’s 7bn cfd gas output.

Having hit nominal 3.2bn cfd capacity in February, issues at the field’s onshore processing facility situated between the coastal cities of Port Said and Damietta (see map,MEES, 2 July) meant output averaged just 2.3-2.6bn cfd between April and early June. (CONTINUED - 482 WORDS)
