Oman managed to escape the record-breaking electricity consumption figures that its fellow GCC-members racked up in 2020. But it’s not proving so lucky in 2021, with generation up by 11.8% year-on-year over the first five months of 2021.
If this trend sticks for the remainder of the year, then annual generation will soar to a record 39.0TWh, easily surpassing 2019’s current benchmark of 35.5TWh (see chart 1). (CONTINUED - 280 WORDS)
