Oman’s PDO announced on 17 January that it has signed an agreement with local firm Mazoon Petrogas for development of the Lekhwair Small Fields (LSF) cluster. The fields are situated in the north-western portion of PDO’s giant Block 6, close to the border with the UAE.
PDO says that the cluster is adjacent to Petrogas’ current Block 5 acreage and that the contract is “for the next 20 years, with an expected initial working interest production of around 4,000 boe/d.” A spokesperson for Petrogas confirms that the firm has a 100% stake in the producing assets.
