Algeria’s Sonatrach extended a long-term LNG supply with Greek firm Depa this week, according to statements from both firms. The deal takes effect from 1 January 2022, replacing a previous agreement for 0.72mn t/y which ran from 2000 to the end of 2021 (MEES, 26 June 2020). Neither firm detailed the new contract’s volumes or duration.
Algeria was Greece’s top LNG supplier until 2019 after which it was overtaken by the US. Sonatrach exported 0.39mn tons of LNG to Greece in 2021 as Algeria’s total LNG exports rose by 13% to 11.99mn tons, according to data intelligence firm Kpler. (CONTINUED - 95 WORDS)
