Tehran has lifted restrictions on gas consumption “in cement, steel and petrochemical industries” that were in place for over three months. The oil ministry’s Shana news agency reports that the restrictions were lifted from 7AM on 27 February.
This was confirmed by government spokesperson Ali Bahadori Jahromi on 28 February, who added that the “gas consumption peak [season] has passed.” Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi praised the efforts of both the ministries of oil and energy for “providing sustainable gas and electricity in winter despite the increase in consumption.” (CONTINUED - 321 WORDS)
