Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has requested the renewal of an existing contract with US oilfield services provider Schlumberger. According to local daily Al-Anbaa, the request was made to the country’s Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT). SLB will see its existing contracts for Jurassic Production Facilities at East and West Raudhatain, West Sabriya and Umm Niqa extended for $21.16mn – 4.5% of the original contract’s value. Another $18.67mn extension has also been requested.
Jurassic capacity currently stands at 550mn cfd and 163,000 b/d, and KOC plans to boost this further through the development of two new facilities (JPF-4 & 5) with combined capacity of 300mn cfd sweet gas and 100,000 b/d light crude. An internal KOC presentation from June shows that JPF-4 is due online in February 2024 and JPF-5 in January 2024. (CONTINUED - 129 WORDS)
