Algeria’s Sonatrach has announced a large new gas condensate reservoir at its giant workhorse Hassi R’Mel gas field. This will be developed under a fast-track model adding output of 10mn m³/day (3.65bcm/y, 350mn cfd) from November 2022, Sonatrach says – just in time for Europe’s winter demand season.
The discovery should help sustain Algeria’s sales gas production at record levels of more than 100 bcm/y – something the country achieved for the first-time ever last year (see chart & MEES, 25 March). (CONTINUED - 730 WORDS)
