Electricity demand is soaring in Dubai. Utility Dewa announced on 19 July that demand in the first half of 2022 has jumped by 6.3% against the same period in 2021, from 21.729WHh to 23.096TWh. Dewa CEO Saeed Muhammad al-Tayer stressed the need to boost capacity “to ensure that we keep pace with the growing demand for electricity and water as well as future needs of customers, developers and businesses while providing a convenient margin.”
