State firm OQ inaugurated the Bisat oil field in Block 60 on 26 January. Located west of the Sultanate, OQ is the sole operator of the Block 60 concession area with 100% interest.
“The field recorded production growth rates from 5,000 b/d in 2019 to 55,000 b/d by 2022. Today the group celebrates a production increase that reached 60,000 b/d,” said Talal al-Aufi, CEO of OQ. “Inauguration of the Bisat oil field represents a quantum leap in exploration operations as the focus shifts to the production of crude oil,” he continued.
