Russia was again well ahead of Saudi Arabia as China’s top crude supplier for September. At 2.12mn b/d Russian volumes were above 2mn b/d – a volume never hit before February – for the sixth time this year and more than 500,000 b/d above Saudi Arabia on 1.60mn b/d (MEES, 20 October & MEES, 20 October).
For the first nine months of 2023 as a whole Russia to China volumes of 2.14mn b/d are up 420,000 b/d year on year and some 350,000 b/d ahead of second place Saudi Arabia which was top for each of the four preceding years (albeit by just 25,000 b/d for 2022). (CONTINUED - 1034 WORDS)
