Italy’s Eni is aiming for a new 200,000 b/d degassing station at the 500,000 b/d-capacity Zubair oil field to come online by the end of 2024. The new project will allow Eni to build requisite capacity for the field to eventually reach its plateau production target of 700,000 b/d.
Work on the $690mn Zubair-Mishrif expansion project began at the end of March, and was awarded in July 2021 to a consortium comprising the CPECC engineering subsidiary of Chinese state giant CNPC (70%) and Italian contractor PEG (30%). The start of work was apparently delayed by the non-passage of a federal budget in 2022. (CONTINUED - 265 WORDS)
