Morocco state renewables developer Masen on 12 December announced a list of eight pre-qualifiers for the 400MW third phase of the 1.6GW Noor Midelt solar project in the Atlas Mountains.
However, the first two phases have been seriously delayed, with little apparent progress to-date. The first phase, 800MW Noor Midelt I, was awarded back in May 2019 to Abu Dhabi state renewables giant Masdar in partnership with France’s EdF Renewables and local firm Green of Africa (MEES, 31 May 2019).
