*India’s LNG imports fell by 16% to a five-year low 20.55mn tons for 2022. India, alongside China, formed the key element of a drop off in Asian LNG buying last year which enabled Europe to step up purchases (MEES, 10 February).
*Qatar not only remained India’s key supplier for 2022 but it bucked the trend of the fall in volumes, with a 7.5% rise to an 8-year high 10.67mn tons, whilst Qatar’s 51.9% market share was the highest since 2016 (see chart, and table). (CONTINUED - 318 WORDS)
