Morocco imported a fourth straight monthly record of 88mn cfd of gas from Spain for May, bringing volumes within touching distance of the 100-110mn cfd that Morocco’s two CCGT power plants used to receive from Algeria until Algiers halted shipments at the end of October 2021 (MEES, 5 November 2021).
The ‘Spanish’ volumes – redirected LNG imports – are piped to Morocco via the reversal of the same GME pipeline that used to carry Algeria-Morocco-Spain volumes.
