Israel expects binding agreements to soon be signed with Jordan and the UAE on a landmark green power-for-water deal first reached in November 2021. During a visit to Abu Dhabi last month, Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz met with senior Emirati and Jordanian officials including his Jordanian counterpart Saleh al-Kharabsheh and the UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan al-Jaber.
According to an Israeli press release on the talks, “The parties discussed the desired ways to promote the final stages of the “Prosperity” regional initiative for the sale of 200 million cubic meters of desalinated seawater per year to Jordan, and the purchase of green electricity from a solar farm that the United Arab Emirates will build in Jordan.” (CONTINUED - 673 WORDS)
