Glencore has begun receiving Kuwaiti gasoline at its Jebel Ali storage facilities in Dubai, having taken over the lease at Star Energy Advario’s facilities from TotalEnergies in July (MEES, 8 March). Kpler data shows that two gasoline cargoes were delivered to the facility earlier this month, on 7 and 25 September, with industry sources confirming the delivery.
Lacking the stakes in regional refineries that TotalEnergies has, which net the French major equity gasoline barrels to blend, Glencore has taken a while to ramp up its operations at Jebel Ali. Its regional oil footprint has traditionally been relatively modest, but one of the few solid commercial relationships that Glencore had at the time was with Kuwait’s KPC. Glencore is a major trader of VLSFO from Kuwait’s newest refinery, 615,000 b/d Al Zour, as well as handling jet fuel and naphtha from the refinery. (CONTINUED - 205 WORDS)
