State-owned South Refineries Company (SRC) announced on 7 October that it has begun loading 800-1,000 t/d (6,300-7,800 b/d) of jet-fuel for export. Iraq exports refined products, mostly fuel oil and naphtha, from the Khor Al-Zubair terminal in Basra.
The start of jet fuel exports comes after SRC expanded the Basra refinery to 280,000 b/d with the addition of a fourth, 70,000 b/d, CDU late last year (MEES, 22 December 2023). SRC also operates smaller 40,000 b/d and 30,000 b/d plants in Maysan and Dhi Qar provinces. Along with new capacity elsewhere, Iraq’s nominal refining capacity now stands at more than 1mn b/d, although this is not fully operational. (CONTINUED - 169 WORDS)
