Iraqi Kurdistan’s leading foreign operator, Norway’s DNO, said on 14 October that production at the firm’s Tawke license (DNO 75%op, Genel 25%) averaged 84,212 b/d in Q3. This is the highest quarterly figure since the closure of the region’s export pipeline in March 2023 and is above guidance of 80,000 b/d provided by partner Genel this summer.

Further details will be provided in DNO’s Q3 results on 7 November, but there is no indication that the firm plans to throttle back production despite Kurdistan’s Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) telling Baghdad that the region will participate in the country’s Opec+ cuts (MEES, 27 September). Likewise, London-listed Gulf Keystone stated on 8 October that its Shaikan field produced 48,500 b/d in September and 45,900 b/d in early October, both well above the year-to-date average of 42,300 b/d.
