Eni, operator of the 2.5tcf Cronos gas find on Cyprus’ offshore Block 6 and its 50:50 partner TotalEnergies are at loggerheads over the optimal way to develop the 2022 discovery, MEES learns.
Eni’s long-stated preference for developing the field is via tieback to its now under-utilized Zohr gas facilities on the other side of the maritime border with Egypt, around 60km away (MEES, 16 February).
