IMF officials on 1 February left Cairo after two weeks of intense face-to-face talks with Egyptian officials in a bid to finalize a long-mooted and much-needed bailout for Egypt’s struggling economy.
Speaking the same day, IMF MD Kristalina Georgieva said “we are in this very last stretch when we are working on the details of implementation. Both sides, the Egyptians and us, want to get that right… But we are close. We are very close.
