Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has started production from two key facilities in the north of the country which will provide a combined 320mn cfd of natural gas and 100,000 b/d of light crude oil. The JPF-4 and JPF-5 plants constitute the third phase of KOC’s Jurassic Gas development project and will increase Jurassic capacity to 870mn cfd and 263,000 b/d of oil.
KPC CEO Sheikh Nawaf Al Sabah visited the facilities on 18 February ahead of their planned inauguration. Boosting gas output from 1.6bn cfd currently is key for Kuwait if it is to reduce its reliance on LNG imports to provide feedstock to powerplants. (CONTINUED - 105 WORDS)
