Iraq’s Oil Ministry is studying an “integrated project” proposal by Chinese independent Geo-Jade and its local consortium partner Hilal Al-Basrah (Basra Crescent) to develop Basra province’s 30,000 b/d-capacity Tuba oilfield (see map, MEES, 8 March).
MEES learns that the project would entail boosting crude production capacity to 200,000 b/d and gas treatment to 50mn cfd, alongside ambitious plans to develop a 200,000 b/d refinery, a petrochemical facility, fertiliser plant and 1.2GW of power generation capacity.
