The night sky over the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem was lit bright on 13 April as Israeli air defenses intercepted incoming missiles and drones from Iran. The scene marked the start of a new era, as years of proxy warfare between Iran and Israel burst into direct confrontation for the first time.
Israel’s response came less than a week later, with a 19 April drone strike on Iran’s central province of Isfahan. As usual, Israel has not taken responsibility for the strike, which was disclosed to media by US Defense sources.
