Iraq’s Oil Ministry said on 18 April that a ceremony will be held on 27 April to “receive and open competitive offers from international oil companies” participating in both of Iraq’s licensing rounds planned this year: the fifth licensing round ‘plus’ annex (LR5+) and the gas-focused sixth licensing round (LR6).
In February, the Petroleum Contracts and Licensing Directorate had published a schedule indicating that bid submissions for each round would be held separately (MEES, 9 February), but this no longer appears to be the case. The new date is even earlier than the previously communicated 28-29 April for LR5+ and LR6’s 1-2 May. (CONTINUED - 193 WORDS)
